Charlie is one of the founders of Eco Plastics. He got together with Jim Kelley a couple of years ago and they set out to learn how to extrude plastic. Their goal was to set up a non-profit which would make useful plastic items from recycled plastic and then sell them. The income would be used to fund the operation and provide additional funds for various other charitable organizations. In addition, they wanted to provide employment for special needs people wherever possible.
Charlie’s background is in Chemistry. He has a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry and has worked for most of his professional career as Managing Director of Cermet Materials, Inc., a company which manufactures precious metal powders and pastes for the electronics industry.
Before getting involved in Electronic Materials, he taught chemistry at Denison University in Ohio and Bates College in Maine.
Outside of work, Charlie loves to ride his bicycle.
Founder / CEO
Jim is one of the founders of Eco Plastics. He and Charlie Falletta joined together a couple of years ago to create and launch ECOP. Jim’s passions to eliminate waterway pollution and prevent wildlife toxicity is fundamental to the ECOP mission.
At the leadership helm of ECOP, Jim directs and executes daily operations from the Shop Floor to the Front Office, and everything in between. Mr. Kelley seeks like-minded networks to create a vibrant shared ecology and economy ensuring a better society for tomorrow.
Jim has always been driven to Save The Planet. His dedication to this mission is evidenced by his Non-Profit leadership of ECOP, and decades of experience in the solar energy industry.
On his own time, Jim plays live music, enjoys nature and outdoor activities, and treasures time spent with his three granddaughters.
Fred joined Eco Plastics Products driven by his commitments to ecology. Fred is involved in the building process of various products at ECOP.
He designed and constructed several devices to increase production efficiency and reduce cost. His prior career with FedEx started as a Computer Tech and culminated as an IT Manager.
Additionally, Fred spent several years in the solar energy industry working on preliminary design and sales. Prior to solar, he was in the building industry building homes, including his own.
His hobbies include playing guitar, hiking, and spending time with family.
Community Outreach Coordinator
Since 2008, Iris McKenney has worked in the nonprofit realm.
As she does all she can to reduce her personal carbon footprint, Iris is excited to be a member of ECOP and wholeheartedly believes in its mission of “Saving The Oceans One Plastic Bag At A Time."
Before joining the Eco Plastic Products of Delaware (ECOP) family, she was the fundraising and communications manager at AIDS Delaware where she coordinated Delaware's statewide AIDS Walk Delaware in Wilmington and Rehoboth Beach simultaneously. Iris procured several grants from local funders, Longwood and Crestlea Foundations, and Philly AIDS Thrift along with national organizations including the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation and MAC AIDS Fund. She plans to do the same for ECOP.
Iris' side hustles are Certified Yoga Instructor and Art Model.
She attended Oklahoma City University where she studied Public Relations.
Dir. - Corporate Branding & Communications
Michele Kelley creates ECOP’s communications and branding. With a long-term career as a professional writer and brander, Michele has launched new initiatives for Fortune 500 corporations, regional companies, and local businesses.
She is renowned as a National Award-Winning Resume Writer, a Nationally Certified Online Profile Expert, and as a sought-after Speaker and Lecturer at universities, national conferences, and local events.
Her service background includes decades of service on several Boards of Directors, and 20+ years as an On-Air Radio Personality at WVUD 91.3FM and www.wvud.org . Michele has been an Event Planner for some of the area’s most notable signature events.
In her free time, she furthers her Earth-Consciousness mission by organic gardening. Also, under her stage name of “Shelley Kelley” she was named “The 2019 Folk Musician of the Year” for the State of Delaware.
Marketing Director/Office Manager
Steph has always been interested in the environment and helping animals.
At ECOP, Steph continuously builds and updates the website and manages the social media accounts. She loves to help people learn about recycling, and leverages her skills by representing ECOP at numerous events and opportunities to advocate for environmental awareness.
Ms. Albertini had a career in Customer Service and sales prior to joining ECOP. Her hobbies are DJing weddings on the weekends and enjoying bike rides in the summer.
Manufacturer | Artistic Director
Leo Dodd is a manufacturer at Eco Plastic Products. He executes all production functions and interfaces directly with the variously-abled workers who volunteer their time at ECOP.
Leo is also a self-taught artist whose inspiration comes from nature and the environment. His long-term art career started in West Chester, PA and now focuses on recycled plastic sculptures. Under his “Leo D’Odd” moniker, he is becoming quite renowned and is hailed as an Award-Winning Artist.
On site at ECOP is the “Studio 18” Art Gallery showcasing Leo’s art. Additionally, Leo D’odd’s art is the featured backgrounds in all of the ECOP bio photographs.
James Darius Thorpe
James Thorpe executes various production roles at Eco Plastic Products.
He is currently a Computer Information Science majori at Delaware Technical and Community College.
James has become an integral part of our team and works hard helping ECOP to fulfill its mission.
Dawn Alexis Calzada
Dawn maintains the books for ECOP. With a love for numbers, her over 40-year career has helped several companies and businesses.
Her service background includes serving on several Boards of Directors in the capacity of Chair and Treasurer.
In her free time and when not traveling, Dawn volunteers with SHARP Dance Company in Philadelphia, PA.
