Founder

Charlie is one of the founders of Eco Plastics. He got together with Jim Kelley a couple of years ago and they set out to learn how to extrude plastic. Their goal was to set up a non-profit which would make useful plastic items from recycled plastic and then sell them. The income would be used to fund the operation and provide additional funds for various other charitable organizations.  In addition, they wanted to provide employment for special needs people wherever possible.

Charlie’s background is in Chemistry. He has a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry and has worked for most of his professional career as Managing Director of Cermet Materials, Inc., a company which manufactures precious metal powders and pastes for the electronics industry.

Before getting involved in Electronic Materials, he taught chemistry at Denison University in Ohio and Bates College in Maine.

Outside of work, Charlie loves to ride his bicycle.
