Who We Are, and How We Became Eco Plastics.
Eco Plastic Products of Delaware is a nonprofit organization that recycles eligible plastic and transforms it into consumer products.
Eco Plastics was founded in 2018 by two men: Charlie Falletta and Jim Kelley. Charlie and Jim had worked together in the solar industry throughout the years and always had a common interest in helping the environment. In 2008, Jim helped Charlie install 220 solar panels on the roof of our current facility, and the two men continued with other similar business ventures since that time. Now, the two men have reconnected for another business journey and decided to start a nonprofit that is unique, beneficial, and that positively impacts the environment.
The idea started in early spring of 2018 and the first bench was created in January of 2019. That bright blue park bench went into Newark Natural Foods in Newark, Delaware where it remains today. Eco Plastic has donated their recycled products to several charities and nonprofits. They even have a bench in Guam! Eco Plastic fulfills a dual mission to provide work to people who fit the full spectrum of human abilities.
We are actively engaged in our community school programs and other charitable organizations that support like causes to educate people on the importance of recycling. It is our mission and short-term goal to make a positive impact on our environment for future generations.
This is our facility where we manufacture our different products and collect the discarded plastic.
The Densifier Machine grinds plastic bags, up to about 30,000 bags at once.
We have 220 solar panels on the roof of our facility that supply us with about 80% of our own power.
The Granulator Machine grinds plastic containers, caps, and other #2 plastic recyclables.
